Can Anything Displace the iPhone in Consumer's Eyes?

In addition to the superior design, high quality, rich functionality and ease of use, there is basically just one iPhone product (color and storage aside).
The other manufacturers have diluted their brand with a confusing array of too many models, and the phone you buy today will be an old model tomorrow. Eg. if I were to consider a Blackberry, do I get the Bold, Storm, or Thunder, and will the one I want now still be the one I want tomorrow.
So, in my view the Iphone's appeal is obvious.

Mac mini is a good box. Both my son and a couple of friends have had theirs for a couple of years and they are pleased.

My 2cents..... Apple has evolved from a 2 cylinder motor cycle thru a 4 cylinder sedan to a six cylinder upscale sedan, and is on its way to being an 8 cylinder performance vehicle.
Cylinder is, of course, a metaphor for Line of Business

are you referring to the official sales by a handful of carriers??
What about all the unlocked iphones which made their way from USA to Europe??
Stop being selective and vague in your "facts"

And, HTC will be more of a threat to RIM than to Apple.

The endless debate over iphone 3G and every other iphone wannabe has become tiresome.
Bottom line: the iphone has evolved into a Pocket Mac, so people should come to terms with this insight.

What Should Jerry Do? My Advice to Yahoo

Jerry did the right thing.
This issue should not be about Wall Street banks, Investment Brokers and short term traders making some money.
Let me ask this question; if Microsoft had bought Apple back in 1997 and some people thought it did, would Apple be the company it is today?

YAHOO is a company many admire and should remain independent or merge with a company with a similar culture. Just like Apple and Next.

Computer Sciences (CSC) -- This is a company that was going to be bought, but they passed up the chance. Now I don't want to buy it."
Annaly Mortgage (NLY) -- I think this is a business model that needs to borrow money. Definitively do not buy."
