Latest Apple Rumor: DRM-Free Music Headed from Sony BMG to iTunes
And the longer the labels delay in supplying DRM-free tracks to the iTunes Store, the deeper they dig their own graves: While the iTS continues--by a huge margin--to be the biggest supplier of legal downloadable music, it's only being allowed to sell Fairplay-DRM'd tracks which can only be played on Apple devices!

      Stupid move, music labels.

Those pesky unintended consequences will get you every time...

Apple Analysis: When Leaders Don't Lead
" [ The Bears ] got all the weapons on their side and they’re playing on their home turf. The only thing that the Bulls can hope for is the occasional good piece of news, that can spark a violent mini rally. But like all the rallies before, it will fail."

Isn't this an exciting turn of events, Zach? Let's game this market all the way down to ZERO! Go, Bears!

Record Companies Starting to Shun iTunes
Since the arrival of the iTunes Store I have spent about $1,000 on music there. Had it not been for the iTS, my music spending over the same period would have been $0. No kidding.

My experience, I'm sure, is not unique.

If the music industry wants it to be the way it was, it deserves to die.

Can Apple Save Tech? (Earnings Come Monday)
@Singh: Those that don't want to have to buy a new PC every 18 months? People that are fed up with Windows? Folks that finally realize there is a real alternative? People that work at home and thus don't have to commute?

Could be lots of new customers there for Apple, Singh...

Is Apple TV a Viable Replacement?
We just started to use our Apple TV for HD movie rentals. I wish we done this sooner--the quality (both 5.1 audio and HD video) is excellent and the convenience and 'instant gratification' can't be beat. The best part is that, for us, movie rentals are the icing on the cake--we already got a lot of use out of Apple TV for podcasts (including HD!), slideshows, and YouTube.

Not Buying It: Sanford Analyst Toni Sacconaghi's iPhone Hit Job
      @ Sleeper Service:

"The iPhone is a very good phone but there are other very good phones out there and due for release"

They will not be comparable to the iPhone. You will not see a competitive device with the integration, accessibility, or platform basis of the iPhone.

"Perhaps it's because I'm European but we tend to be a little fussier over our devices"

That's good! Once you folks get a good look at the iPhone, reality will set in and you'll understand and appreciate its charms.
