And what does the gov. want people to do? Borrow and spend!! The gov. is the problem and not the answer.

I guess I see things a little different then you. The damage has been done and people are correcting it now. There is no chance of more debt --credit card or any other kind. People are paying down debt (where most of the stimulus went). Saving will go up and debt down during this correction. Yes bankruptcy is getting rid of debt.

I look at this correction as a positive.

Using credit cards does not mean more debt. I buy everything with credit cards and have NO debt. Besides I get a large check from my credit card each year.

You assume everyone is stupid---not true.

yes I agree that the increasing use of credit cards has more to do with convenience. We buy everything on credit cards and get back 300 to 400 dollars every year. Cash is trash. grin

Computer Sciences (CSC) -- This is a company that was going to be bought, but they passed up the chance. Now I don't want to buy it."
Annaly Mortgage (NLY) -- I think this is a business model that needs to borrow money. Definitively do not buy."
