Just How Correlated Are Oil and Equities?
Great piece. This is a question not enough folks are answering.

Offshore Drilling Is Not the Solution
More importantly we need to look at the sectors who benefit when oil pulls back.

Is the Commodities Bull Market Over?
Good piece. It all depends on the dollar and the perception of the dollar going forward.

Gold: The Commodity Bull Market Isn't Over
It's a tough road for gold to hoe in the face of a rising dollar. There is a seasonal/cyclical aspect to gold that cannot be ignored. Gold likely to go sideways for awhile.

Weekly Commodities Outlook: August 4th – August 8th
Commodities are in trouble. I was reading an article this AM over on greenfaucet about gold losing it's lister. Go long financials and short commodities. It's genius.

ImClone - Bristol-Myers Merger: The Negotiations Begin
These mergers are just beginning. A lot of inefficiency still in this sector. I also think Investment Banks will start buying smaller less-leveraged banks to de-leverage balance sheet risk.

      Where Are Precious Metals Heading?
Good piece. Tough call at these levels, especially with the seasonality evident here. Adam Hamilton had a good piece on the topic on greenfaucet yesterday.

      Mother of All Short Squeezes?
The Fed along with the Government did everything they could to engender capitulation last week. As far as the the whole short-selling debacle goes, where do you draw the line. I was reading this piece over the weekend wondering what happens next?

How High Leverage Has Brought Down the Whole Banking Industry
What ever happened to free market capitalism? Why is the govt. jawboning and intervening. Don't we need some failures. A strong economy is formed by weeding out the weak links. It's like little league baseball when you had to play the fat kid for 3 innings! Let the market run operate freely please. This was a good piece on this topic i saw today.
