Tech May Be a Wreck, But This Isn't 2001

and...APPL has an extra cushion that extends profits because of the kick-back arrangement with AT & T for it's iPhone. And..they have profitable retail space just for their brand. those stores are still heavily frequented, even when malls are slow, leading one to expect a lot of pent up demand that will manifest in holiday sales.
in addition, purchases from the itunes and apps stores are enormous and growing. these are relatively inexpensive items so once the initial product (ipod, computer, iphone) is purchased, it doesn't seem like much of an expense to 'shop the stores'.
It'll be after Christmas that will tell more of a story. The top well funded players will survive nicely...i think the others will be in trouble.

Apple Keeps On Rolling... But Can Metalink?

it's fascinating to watch tech innovation impacts within the industry. those companies good at timeline projections make it. Steve Jobs learned a hard lesson early on. the world wasn't ready for Next when he initiated it. it bombed. but Apple won't bomb now. those people waiting in line won't be weary on Friday. they'll be excited because they won't be there to buy a phone. they'll be there to buy a shirt pocket computer. APPL has been down and it's been up, but for me, it's a good long term investment that has just nibbled at potential growth.

3G iPhone Predictions

don't forget the new Apple store in China, in time for the Olympics. Apple has been quietly moving into so many different countries...and this iphone is still a baby...they've hardly been in this part of the business and look what's happened. i can't wait for the new G3phone and i'm sure a lot of other people around the world are feeling the same way. i just hope they can make enough phones so when my other phone contract is up in october, i can buy one :)
